2.5

2.6
In the event that a sum is mistakenly credited to your account we shall be entitled to make the appropriate adjustment to it.

2.7
In the event that a sum is mistakenly credited to your account, and this money is withdrawn, then you must reimburse to us this money on request and we are entitled to set-off any subsequent amounts you deposit with us to satisfy this liability.

3. Credit Checking and Age Verification

3.1
When deciding whether to accept your registration, we may supply the information you have given us to authorised credit reference agencies to confirm your identity and card details. They will check any details we disclose to them against any databases (public or private) to which they have access and will keep a record of that check. You agree that we may process, use, record and disclose personal information which you provide in connection with your registration and that such personal data may be recorded by us or them. For your protection, any telephone calls to our Customer Service Centre may be recorded and monitored.

3.2
We will not open an account unless we believe, acting reasonably, that you are 18 years or over. It is illegal in the UK for anyone to facilitate gambling with anyone aged under 18 and if you are under 18 and in the UK you will be guilty of a criminal offence.

3.3
We are entitled to verify any information you give us when you open an account to ensure you are over the age of 18 and we may ask you to provide us with proof you are over 18. You will not be able to withdraw any winnings until our verification process has been satisfactorily completed. In any event, if you have failed to satisfactorily complete our age verification checks within 72 hours of you registering a relevant bank card and placing your first bet or wager, we are entitled to freeze your account, prevent you from gambling any further until you have satisfactorily completed these checks and, if upon completion of age verification you are ultimately shown to be underage, we will return all stakes to you but are under no obligation to pay any winnings.

4. Username, password, PIN & Customer Information

4.1
When opening an account, Customers choose a username and password that will be used to access their account. These should be kept secure. Customers can change their password at any time via the Account Options menu. Customers can choose to select a PIN, this will be used when making a deposit or withdrawing funds from an account. The PIN can also be changed or deactivated by the Customer at any time.

4.2
When opening a Gala TV account (either via the interactive red button or via the freephone number (0800 587 4880) customers will be provided with a username and generic password.  You will be instructed to change your password the first time you log onto Gala TV.  If you fail to change your password within two weeks, your account will be locked and you will need to contact customer services on 0800 294 7294 to reactivate the account.  Customers can change their password via the interactive green button at any time.

4.3
The Customer is responsible for the secrecy of his/her own Username, Password and PIN. Bets or wagers placed by third parties aware of these details will be considered valid.

4.4
It is your sole responsibility to ensure that all information supplied to us by you is accurate and up-to-date and that it remains so. We are entitled to assume it is.

4.5
You will not allow any other person or third party (including, without limitation, any minor) to use your account or accept any prize on your behalf. If you think your account may be accessed by a minor we would ask you to be vigilant, keep your password and pin code safe and contact us to enquire about filtering software that will be compatible with the Company’s Websites.

5. Deposits and Withdrawals

5.1
We offer several different methods for making a deposit or a withdrawal from an account. Details on the payment options currently offered and any charges associated are included in the HELP section.

5.2
When opening an account with a debit or credit card, you must make sure that you use your own card. We are entitled to assume that you are. The maximum number of cards that may be registered on any individual account at any given time is one.

5.3
As well as any other verification processes we may undertake, any account holders depositing from debit cards may be required to provide additional proof of identity to assist with age verification before making their first withdrawal. We refer you to section 3 of these General Terms and Conditions which explains more about age verification. Whilst these additional checks are not generally required for credit card users, we reserve the right to request such documentation prior to processing a withdrawal, should circumstances dictate. Therefore, should the circumstances dictate, we reserve the right to request specific proof of identity in the form of, including but not limited to: passport number, photocopy of a valid identity document, utility bill or header of a recent card statement.

5.4
These documents must be mailed, scanned and e-mailed or faxed to us at the address and numbers provided in the Contact Us section of the HELP section.

5.5
If any sum is incorrectly credited to your account you are obliged to notify the Company, and the Company is entitled to reverse such credits and/or recover such sums from you (with interest) if withdrawn. If you use the sums improperly credited to place bets, the Company can void (i.e. cancel) all such bets and reverse any winnings.

5.6
Save for accounts opened via the interactive red button on Gala TV, by default, we hold deposits in the Sports Betting section of your account. We allow you to move seamlessly between products, but when you wish to play either Casino, Bingo, Poker or Games, you will need to transfer funds from the Sports Betting section of your account. Furthermore, any winnings must be transferred back to the Sports Betting section of your account before a withdrawal can be requested. Customers may withdraw funds from their account at any time providing all payments have been confirmed and provided Customers have satisfied our identification procedures. As from the 15 December 2007, you will be requested to contact Customer Services if you wish to deposit or withdraw more than the equivalent of 2,000 Euros in aggregate (or the equivalent) in any 24 hour period from our gaming and casino cashier wallets.

5.7
When you win using our products or services, you may be legally obliged to account to the relevant tax authorities. This remains your responsibility and we are not liable to account to any such authority for any of your personal taxes.

5.8
We do not charge for deposits by bank transfer, debit or credit cards although Customers should note that some credit card companies categorise betting transactions as ‘cash’ and may levy a fixed and/or interest charge from the date of payment.

5.9
Withdrawals to UK debit and credit cards and via bank transfer to UK bank accounts are also free of charge to Customers (we absorb these).

5.10
Where Customers make repeated deposits and withdrawals without commensurate play, we reserve the right to pass associated bank charges on to you by debiting your account but will provide you with advance notice before doing so to enable you to cease such activity.

5.11
Withdrawals via bank transfer to International bank accounts (deposits and withdrawals) attract bank charges, which may vary according to the amount of money transferred and are met by the Customer.

5.12
We reserve the right to charge a reasonable commission on any currency exchanges taking place where, in our opinion, an appropriate level of gameplay has not occurred so the Customer is deemed to be abusing exchange rate fluctuations. Our currency exchange rates are calculated in accordance with the daily rates set out in the Financial Times.

6. Freezing and Closing an account

6.1
In certain circumstances, we may need to freeze the monies in your account such that such funds will be temporarily unavailable for you to play with. We will do so where we have reason to believe that your account may be being used for fraudulent purposes, for the purposes of money laundering or in such a way as to jeopardise the integrity of the sports or events on which we offer betting markets. Until our investigations are completed and until we are satisfied that the cause of our concerns no longer exists we may continue to freeze the account or opt to close it. We can also freeze or close your account (as we can determine at our discretion) if we believe you are involved in collusion, match rigging or cheating of any kind or if we have reason to believe you are under 18 years old or in a jurisdiction (or citizen of a jurisdiction) that renders the provision of our products or services to you or your use of them illegal. In such event we reserve the right to supply such Customer details to any relevant authority so as to assist with a proper investigation.

6.2
We reserve the right to close a Customer's account at any time. We will give you reasonable notice before doing so, unless circumstances dictate that we legally or practically cannot do so.

6.3
The Customer has the right to close an account at any time, providing their account does not show a balance is due to us. A Customer should indicate his desire to close an account in writing, via e-mail, fax or letter, using our Contact Us section.

6.4
In this case, the Customer shall be sent the sum on deposit in his/her account by a method of payment determined by us. Should the Customer have placed bets, the outcome of which is as yet unknown, and which subsequently win, the corresponding sums shall be sent later when the bet is completed.

6.5
It is agreed by the Customer that charging back any deposited funds shall be considered a breach of this agreement and entitle us to close its account and terminate our relationship.

7. Dormant accounts

7.1
If you have not logged into your account or otherwise not accessed or used it for a continuous period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) day your account shall deemed to be dormant. Similarly if we have frozen your account for the reasons given in the preceding section for such a period it shall be considered dormant. If your account becomes a dormant account and there is a credit balance on the account, then we will use all reasonable endeavours to contact you to determine your wishes in respect of those unutilised funds.

8. Security

8.1
We use secure technology to protect the information Customers submit to the website. We are endorsed by BT Trustwise and Verisign. Read our full Security Policy.

9. Promotional offers

9.1
Where we offer to match a Customer's initial deposit as part of a promotion, this money is provided for Customers to bet with, and it may never be withdrawn as cash.

9.2
We reserve the right to insist that Customers bet the amount of their own deposit before they can bet with the free money we credit to them.

9.3
Both the initial deposit and bonus must be staked before any withdrawal will be permitted although a void bet will not qualify as being staked.

9.4
As only one account per person is permitted, any Customer is entitled to only one initial matched deposit.

9.5
Certain promotions may be subject to withdrawal and/or cancellation and may only be available for specific periods and on certain specific terms. You must ensure that the promotion you are interested in is still available, that you are eligible, and that you understand any terms which apply to it.

9.6
An advertised offers relating to the opening an account is limited to one per Customer. In the case of a Customer opening more than one account, we reserve the right to suspend and close duplicate accounts, and make void any bets placed.

9.7
Promotional offers may be subject to specific terms and conditions which, in the event of any ambiguity, will take precedent over these General Terms and Conditions.

10. Telephone bets

10.1
Our Websites do not accept bets or wagers by telephone or email.

10.2
UK customers may like to know that Coral operates a separate Telephone betting operation available on 0800 242 232.

11. Normal 'trading' hours

11.1
The normal hours of work for the sports trading department are 9.00 am to 11.00 pm Monday to Saturday and 10.00am to 10.00pm on Sundays. Outside of these hours some events and betting opportunities may not be available.

11.2
Outside of these hours limits will be applied to the size of bets we are willing to accept. These limits may vary according to the sport, the event, the selection or our betting liability.

11.3
Subject to the Liability section of these Terms and Conditions, our Websites are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

12. Placing Your bets

12.1
You may bet up to the amount deposited on your account. We do not operate credit accounts. When a bet or wager is placed and accepted, the corresponding amount is charged against your deposit account.

12.2
The Customer is obliged to check that the bet instructions he/she submitted are correct before confirming the bet. We reserve the right not to accept, or accept only a part of any bet. We reserve the right to propose a different stake size or price for the selection on any bet.

12.3
On Gala TV once a customer has pressed the red button to go interactive, customers are warned that they are about to go online an incur telephone charges.  Calls are charged at a local rate from a BT landline.  However, charges from other networks may vary and we recommend that you check with your local operator in case you have any doubt.  We shall not be held liable for any costs incurred whilst interactive play is on progress.

12.4
At all times, where there is any disagreement as to the details of the bet or wager staked, our records shall prevail.

13. Valid bets and wagers

13.1
A bet or wager is deemed to be valid only following electronic confirmation of acceptance. Only then is it lodged in our server. This acceptance is demonstrated with the generation of a Bet Identification Number or, in the case of poker, a Hand Identification number. The only exception to this is in the case of Tote Pool betting, where a Bet Identification Number is generated at the time the bet is submitted to the Tote Pool and acceptance is only confirmed once the status of the bet has changed from ‘pending’ to ‘running’ in the client’s List of Bets. Any Tote Pool bet that has not been officially transmitted into the Tote Pool in accordance with the above will be deemed void.

13.2
We reserve the right to refuse all or any part of a bet offered to us, void any accepted bets and withhold settlement if we have reason to believe:

  • You are under 18 years of age;
  • You are involved in fraud, money laundering, collusion, match rigging or cheating of any kind;
  • You are in a jurisdiction (or citizen of a jurisdiction) that renders the provision of our products or services to you or your use of them illegal; or
  • a bet or wager may breach the governing rules of the relevant sport or event in question or jeopardise the integrity of the sport or event in question.

13.3
Where we have taken the steps to void a bet or wager for one of the above reasons, your actions leading to that shall be considered a breach of these Terms and Conditions and entitle us to terminate our relationship with immediate effect. In such circumstances we may use the monies we hold in your account in order to settle any liabilities we may incur as a result of your actions.

13.4
Gambling is a fast moving environment, odds move rapidly and bets are taken continuously and consequently mistakes do occasionally occur. We do all that we can to avoid this but we cannot accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, the late closing of markets, place terms, handicaps, runners or results despite our every effort to ensure total accuracy. If a bet is accepted in error by us at a price or market condition, as indicated above, that is:

  • Materially different from those available in the general market at the time the bet was made; or
  • So obviously incorrect given the relative probability of the event occurring at the time the bet was made; or
  • So obviously incorrect having regard to the nature of the betting business or the market in question (including if we erroneously accept a bet after the event in question has commenced (unless it is an in-running bet)),

then we will not pay winnings higher than those that would be paid under the price available in the general market and we will either settle the bet at the correct price or on terms available with us or, on condition that you can provide us with verification, at the best price or on the best terms available with any of the following companies at the time the bet was struck: Ladbrokes, William Hill, Totesport or Betfred.

14. Odds Comparison Sites

14.1
When placing bets on your account via links from other sites (eg odds comparison), it is your responsibility to ensure that the details of the bet being submitted for acceptance are as actually intended.

14.2
Where a bet is accepted as a result of an incorrect link or incorrectly displayed price from such a site, the bet will be settled in accordance with the event for which it was actually accepted (as identified in your List Of Bets), unless cancelled by mutual consent prior to the start of the event.

15. Complaints and Disputes

15.1
In this section of our Terms and Conditions a "complaint" means a complaint about any aspect of our conduct in relation to your dealings with us and a "dispute" means any complaint which is not resolved through the Complaints Procedure and which relates to the outcome of a gambling transaction. All disputes are dealt with under our Dispute Resolution Policy. Complaints will not be heard by us if they are not raised with Customer Services within 12 weeks of the event which the bet related to occurring.

15.2
In relation to all complaints or disputes, we reserve the right to record all telephone and e-mail communications with you and any other person. In the event of a dispute as to the contents of any such communication, reference will be made to such records and to our transaction database which, in the absence of any contrary evidence, shall be decisive.

15.3
It shall be a condition of your agreement with us that any complaints and disputes are and remain confidential both whilst we seek a resolution and afterwards. You agree that you shall not disclose the existence, nature or detail of any complaints and disputes to any third party (which shall include the discussion of any such any complaints and disputes in any chat room or forum offered by ourselves or any third party). If you do so, that shall be considered a breach of the Terms and Conditions and we will no longer be obliged to continue seeking a resolution to your complaint and dispute and shall be entitled to freeze (and potentially close) your account.

Complaints Procedure

15.4
We take complaints seriously. If you have any cause to complain about anything that has happened as a consequence of your dealings with us, you should notify us by contacting Customer Services. We will then give you a name and status of one of our Customer Support advisers who will oversee the management of your complaint. We will deal with your complaint as quickly as we reasonably can and shall, as necessary, request appropriate evidence from you for the purposes of settling your complaint.

Dispute Resolution Policy

15.5
If a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction by the use of our Complaint Procedure, you may refer the matter to an independent adjudicator. The appropriate adjudicator is determined by reference to the products or services that are the subject of the dispute or by the regulator of the product in question. We will inform you which body to refer to, upon request. Where a dispute is referred to one of the bodies mentioned below, the resulting decision shall be final and binding and you therefore will not have further recourse to the courts.

15.6 Betting
The Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) provides a free, independent, impartial, confidential dispute resolution and arbitration service for disputes relating to the sum or sums to be paid or credited to Customers on any betting wager between Customers and operators including fixed odds games, but excluding spread betting. It ensures that all its adjudicators are experienced and independent and make a full and independent assessment of the facts made by way of written submissions, make adjudications based on the merits of each case as set out in the written submissions with appropriate care and attention and prepare a written finding. IBAS can be contacted at www.ibas-uk.co.uk or via telephone on +44 (0)207 881 2690 or via post at IBAS, PO Box 44781, London, SW1W 0WR.

15.7 Third party licensed casino and poker
Our third party licensed casino and poker products and services are provided by Eurobet (Gibraltar) Limited which is licensed by the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority. We agree to submit to any independent arbitration body that may be approved from time to time by the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority and will, upon request, provide you with details of any such body.

15.8 Bingo, in-house casino and games
Our bingo, in-house designed casino and games products and services are provided by Gala (Alderney) Limited which is licensed by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. We agree to submit to the dispute resolution procedure offered from time to time by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.

16. Fraud

16.1
We will seek the fullest criminal and contractual sanctions against any Customer involved in fraud. We will withhold payment to any Customer where fraud is alleged or suspected.

16.2
The Customer shall indemnify and shall be liable to pay us, on demand, all costs, charges or losses sustained or incurred by us (including any direct, indirect or consequential losses, any loss of profit and loss of reputation) arising directly or indirectly from a Customer’s fraud, dishonesty or criminal act.

17. Self-exclusion

17.1
Whilst most customers are able to enjoy their gambling, we recognises that for a very small number of customers gambling ceases to be fun. For those customers who wish to restrict their gambling, we provide a self-exclusion facility. We also refer you to our policy on Responsible Gambling, which highlights how seriously we take this issue and the assistance we provide.

17.2
Self Exclusion is a formal process whereby we cease to allow you to operate an account with us for a minimum period of 6 months and up to 5 years, at your request. During this period we cannot accept any deposits or bets. We will close your account and return any outstanding balance to you. Any running bets will continue in place and we will forward any winnings after the event is settled. Once you self exclude, we cannot reverse this process for any reason and you may not apply to open a new account. We will not reopen any self excluded account, but after the expiry of the exclusion period you may telephone us to open your account (no other method of activation is possible.) Legislation requires us to provide you with a 24 hour cooling off period, during which you may elect to keep the exclusion in place.

17.3
To use our self exclude facility, you must be logged into your account. From the Account Options menu you will be able to select Update personal details and then click on Responsible Gambling.

17.4
You will see a link to the online form. Click on the link and simply fill in the form with details of any other Gala Coral Group account you may have and select the period of time that you wish the exclusion to apply, then click on Update to send your Self-Exclusion request. We will action your request within 48 hours and confirm to you by e-mail, on your external e-mail account, when we have put the exclusion in place.

17.5
Software is available to assist you with self-exclusion from organisations such as ICRA.

17.6
Having implemented reasonable checks and safeguards to ensure that whilst you are self excluded you cannot access our Website(s) and you do not receive marketing material about gambling from us we cannot be held liable to you or any third party if you are able to continue to gamble on our site(s), or if any marketing material inadvertently gets sent to you and you continue to gamble on any other party’s sites or premises. Moreover we would urge you if you continue to gamble during any period of self exclusion (from ourselves or other operators) that you seek urgent professional help.

17.7
We will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure compliance with self-exclusion. However you accept that we have no responsibility or liability whatsoever if you continue to gamble through additional accounts where you have changed any of the registration details (which would also include if you open up an account with substantially the same information, albeit inputted into the registration form in a different way).

Applicability of these Rules

The following specific terms and conditions (our “Specific Sports Rules”) govern Your use of all our interactive sports betting products and services. They form part of Gala Coral’s General Terms & Conditions, which apply to all the products and services we offer and which You have to accept upon registering for any of the online or interactive products or services offered by the Gala Coral Group. To the extent there is any inconsistency between the General Terms and Conditions and any of these Specific Sports Rules, the General Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

Throughout these Specific Sports Rules, any reference to "the Company", "we", "our", or "us" refers to the Gala Coral Company noted in the General Terms and Conditions.

1. Result

1.1
The final result for settlement purposes will be the initial official result as confirmed subsequent to the event’s closure. This will apply to all events, except where the specific event rules (below) state the contrary (e.g. horse racing). For example, the podium positions in Grand Prix racing as well as any similar official ceremony or presentation in other sports are to be treated as the official result. Subsequent changes in results, whether due to disciplinary hearings or otherwise, are disregarded. If no official result of a sporting event is available, the result will be determined by us with reference to all accessible evidence.

2. Event details

2.1
Event details (dates, commencement times etc) displayed on the Website are for guidance only. We are not responsible for any errors or amendments to any event details displayed. Score displays are indicative only and no responsibility will be accepted by us for bets placed on their basis.

3. Sports Playing Rules

3.1
The actual playing rules of the sports on which we offer markets are governed by the rules of the relevant regulatory authority. A non-exhaustive list of these authorities is available here.

4. Potential Returns

4.1
The results produced by our bet calculator are only designed to be a guide to potential returns. We cannot guarantee results to be 100% accurate. Certain invalid inputs may result in unrealistic returns, so please be careful when entering your data.

5. Late bets

5.1
While we try to always remove the opportunity to bet on an event once it has started, should an event remain 'open' on the website, this is not in itself an indication that we are willing to take bets on the event and bets placed after the start of an event (excepting cases where we are specifically offering In Running Betting) will be made void.

5.2
All times displayed on the website are for information purposes only, and we adhere to official start times of events and races.

6. Related contingencies

6.1 It is not permissible to bet on multiple selections, where the respective outcomes are related, in a multiple bet.

6.2 Related in this sense means that should one event happen, then another event happening becomes more likely.

6.3 Should a related bet inadvertently be accepted then wherever possible we will give the customer the choice to have the whole stake equally divided between the individual selections as single bets, or to have the bet cancelled. Where we are unable to contact the customer, or we discover the error after an event has started, then the whole stake will be equally divided among the selections as single bets. The exception to this is where the selections are not available to be bet as singles. In this case the whole bet will be made void.

7. Game/match time

7.1
All games/matches must play to the conclusion of scheduled playing time (including all injury time) to be considered official, unless otherwise stated. Any extra time is not considered unless otherwise stated.

8. Settlement odds

8.1
All odds are subject to fluctuation, and (unless otherwise indicated) bets will be settled at the prevailing offer at the time a bet was placed and confirmed.

9.Void bets

9.1
If a market is voided for any of the reasons indicated in these Rules, all stake money will be returned to the customer.

10. Cancellation/Alteration of Bets

10.1
Once a bet has been submitted and confirmed by us, it cannot be altered or cancelled by the customer.

11. Refusal of bets

11.1
We reserve the right to refuse any bet that is submitted to us, without giving a reason.

11.2
On occasions where we are willing to accept a part of a bet, or accept a bet but at different odds or terms, we will always propose a revised bet to the customer who can then accept or decline the revised bet. There will always be a limited time within which the customer must decide to accept or decline a revised bet. If the customer does not respond in time the bet will not be placed. This time limit is subject to fluctuation depending on different factors, but will normally be less than thirty seconds.

12. Price changes

12.1
All of our prices are subject to fluctuation at any time.

12.2
We will accept bets only at the price that is applicable to the selection at the time that the bet is submitted.

12.3
To view the current odds for any event the customer should 'refresh' the page on which the odds are displayed. A refresh icon is provided for this purpose on pages displaying horse and greyhound races, where the prices of individuals runners are most liable to change.

13. Non runners

13.1
In the event that a selection for an event does not participate, or if an event is cancelled, then bets on these will be considered non runners.

13.2
Excepting Ante Post Bets (as specified in detail below), a single bet on a non runner will be made void. Save for Ante Post Bets, where the whole bet will be deemed a loser, where a non runner is part of a multiple bet the whole bet will not be made void, but only the parts of the bet relating to that selection will be made void. For example, a treble involving a non runner becomes a double - to the same stake - on the remaining two selections.

14. Price or event rigging

14.1
Where there is evidence of price rigging in horse racing or greyhound racing, we reserve the right to settle bets at Starting Price, or to make bets void.

14.2
Where there is evidence of corruption in any event we reserve the right to make bets on that event void or to withhold payment, pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation and ultimately to declare bets on that event as void. Where evidence of rigging exists or where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selection(s), having been placed by or for the same individual or by a syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to require claims for payment to be submitted in writing to our customer services.

14.3
In the event of an official enquiry in relation to suspicious betting activity (or other malpractice) surrounding an event, we reserve the right to disclose information (including confidential information) to the sports governing body or their representatives as required by law.

15. Special bets

15.1
From time to time we will offer special betting opportunities, the rules for which are not covered specifically in these Rules. In the case of these bets, we will display the additional terms in the text description that relates to the opportunity on the website, and bets will be settled accordingly.

16. Maximum payouts

16.1
The maximum payout on any bet or bets involving one or more of the same selections are shown below.  These maximum payout amounts will apply even if by taking a price, the level of potential winnings exceeds these amounts.

16.2
Where selections are taken from different categories listed below and are combined in multiple or accumulative bets, the lowest maximum payout limit will apply.

16.3
Where a range of accumulators or other multiple bets are placed including a common selection(s) the maximum payout will apply to all those bets including that selection, even if the bets are placed over a number of days.

16.4
Any group of customers who have placed the same combination of selections and we reasonably believe have been acting as a syndicate will be treated as one customer for the purpose of the limits below.

16.5 Should a number of bets, containing the same selection(s) be placed in one or more of our branches, via telephone and/or internet and we reasonably believe they have originated from one customer or group/syndicate of customers, then we reserve the right to limit the total payment of all those bets combined to the single maximum payout applicable to these rules.

17. Minimum stakes

17.1
The minimum stake for any single or combination bet is set out in the bet slip. These minimum stakes may change for different betting opportunities. There is no maximum stake for a bet. All bets are subject to the maximum payout relating to that betting opportunity.

17.2
It is the customer's responsibility to check the potential return on any bet does not exceed the maximum payout relating to that bet. For assistance, where it is possible to calculate, we display the potential return on the Bet Request page of the website. We also offer a Potential Return calculator feature on the Betting Slip page. Please note that where a bet contains a selection at Starting Price, a potential return cannot be calculated.

18. The Dead Heat Rule

18.1
In the event of a dead heat for first place in a race or event, the win stake of any bet on one of the selections involved in the dead heat is divided by the number of dead heaters and multiplied by the full win odds to calculate the return. Therefore, for example, a £10 bet at 6/1 on a horse that dead heats with one other horse for first place, is paid at the rate of £5 at 6/1, giving a total return of £35. The remainder of the stake money is lost.

18.2
In the case of an each way bet, where a dead heat causes there to be more selections placed than the number of places on which we are paying, the number of selections dead heating is divided by the number of places available. The place stake of the bet is divided by this number and then multiplied by the full place odds to calculate the returns.

19. Tattersall's rule 4(c)

19.1
Where a horse is withdrawn before coming under Starter's orders, after a course market has been formed, bets are settled in accordance with Tattersalls' rules. Tattersalls' Rule 4 Deduction Scale makes an adjustment to prices to reflect the absence from the 'book' of any non runner. The following deductions are made per pound won and relate to the price of the withdrawn horse at the time the bet was struck.

a) 1/9 or shorter 90p
b) 2/11 to 2/17 85p
c) 1/4 to 1/5 80p
d) 3/10 to 2/7 75p
e) 2/5 to 1/3 70p
f) 8/15 to 4/9 65p
g) 8/13 to 4/7 60p
h) 4/5 to 4/6 55p
i) 20/21 to 5/6 50p
j) Evens to 6/5 45p
k) 5/4 to 6/4 40p
l) 13/8 to 7/4 35p
m) 15/8 to 9/4 30p
n) 5/2 to 3/1 25p
o) 10/3 to 4/1 20p
p) 9/2 to 11/2 15p
q) 6/1 to 9/1 10p
r) 10/1 to 14/1 5p
s) over 14/1 no deduction

In the event of two or more horses being withdrawn before coming under starter's orders, the total deduction will be the sum of the individual deductions, up to a maximum of 90p per pound won.

20. Place terms for each-way betting

20.1
On many events we accept bets 'each-way'. In an each way bet, half of the stake goes on the selection to win, and half on the selection to be placed. The place part of the bet will be paid at a fraction of the win price. The terms at which each way bets are accepted will differ for different events, and will always be displayed on the website at the top of the betting opportunity.

20.2
For horse and greyhound racing the each way terms we offer are as follows:

  • In races of 5-7 runners we pay ¼ of the win odds for 1st and 2nd places.
  • In races of 8 or more runners we pay 1/5 of the win odds for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
  • In Handicap races of 12-15 runners we pay ¼ of the win odds for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
  • In Handicap races of 16 or more runners we pay ¼ of the win odds for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places.
  • Where there are less than 5 runners, the whole stake goes on the horse to win.
  • All each way multiple bets are settled win-to-win, place-to-place. Equally divided each way betting is not available.
  • Unless offered for a special event or via the Tote in the UK we do not offer 'place only' betting.

21. Postponements/Cancellations/Abandonments

21.1
Where a race is postponed and run later the same day, (i.e. before or at 23.59 on the same day in the time zone in which the race is taking place) all bets placed prior to the announced postponement stand for the re-arranged time, unless previously cancelled by the customer.

21.2
Specific rules relating to postponements and abandonments (void bets) are dealt with in the individual sporting rules below. Generally, postponement and abandonments will not void a bet if the outcome of the bet has already been resolved prior to the abandonment. For example, a football bet on a first goal scorer will stand if it has already been scored.

21.3
If a bet is placed under ante post conditions and the event is postponed, cancelled or abandoned, then the bet will be deemed a loser.

21.4
In the event of Ante Post Bets, where the whole bet will be deemed a loser, one or more event(s) is postponed/abandoned in an accumulator bet the postponed/abandoned event(s) will be treated as void and the stake will be transferred into the remaining selections in the bet with the odds adjusted to the odds on the rearranged bet at the time the original bet was placed (for example reducing a treble to a double or a double to a single where one event is cancelled.)

22. No Starting Price returned

22.1
In the event that a Starting Price is not returned for any horse race, bets will be settled at a Starting Price that will be decided upon by us having considered other forms of official returns on that race to determine a reasonable Starting Price. Where there is no Starting Price return in a greyhound race, all bets on that race will be void.

23. Lottery bets

23.1
We offer betting at fixed odds on the numbers drawn in different National and State Lotteries under the name LOTTOWORLD or LOTTO. Bets are accepted at fixed odds - set by us - and stake money invested on these bets does not go in to the lottery pool, or buy a ticket for that lottery. More rules and information relating to LOTTOWORLD or LOTTO are available in the HELP section on the Website.

24. Change of venue

24.1
In the event that a home side’s ground is changed to a neutral ground or a previously stated neutral ground is changed to a particular side’s home ground, all bets placed are still valid. Bets will only be void if the home and away team names are erroneously stated in reverse on our Website or if the match is switched from the original home side to the original away side’s ground.

25. Outright Bets on Player/Team withdrawn after the Official Start

25.1
If a player or team has taken any part in a sporting event once it has officially started and then fails to complete for whatever reason, we will settle your bet as a loser.

26. Top Goalscorer/pointscorer markets

26.1
The Dead Heat Rule will apply to top goalscorer/pointscorer in a competition if players finish on the same number of goals/points scored regardless of whether a differing official result is determined by other means by the sports ruling body.

27. NON UK (INCLUDING IRELAND) racing

27.1
Where we offer betting on horse racing from outside the UK or Republic of Ireland the rules covering ante post and early price betting are the same as for UK racing. Where the race has an official return of a Pari Mutuel dividend then board price betting will not be available, and bets at starting price will use the Pari Mutuel dividends.

27.2
Where there is a UK industry starting price and board price service provided by UK bookmakers we will normally offer customers the choice of (a) our early price, industry board price and industry starting price; or (b) Pari Mutuel returns. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that he has selected his preferred choice when placing his bet. All bets on non UK and Ireland racing will be settled on the final result including any subsequent Stewards’ Enquiries or Objections.

28. Concessions and bonuses

On Coral.co.uk we offer the following concessions and bonuses on the 'Lucky' series of bets.

29. In Running Betting

29.1
Where any information is provided alongside our in running betting service concerning the score or status of an event, customers should note that this is for indicative purposes only. We do not accept responsibility for the accuracy of this information and as such cannot be held responsible for any bets placed on the basis of this information.

29.2
While we will use our reasonable efforts to ensure that the information we display is as up-to-date as possible, any user of our in running services acknowledges that there is the potential for such information to be delayed, putting them at a disadvantage in relation to us or other customers who have access to more up-to-date information.

29.3
The customer is also advised that other media forms of communication on live events (such as websites, radio and television), may also contain a delay in relaying the real-time action and therefore again this could put the customer at a disadvantage as others (including us) may have access to the real-time information.

30. Horse Racing

30.1
Horse Racing bets are settled on a Double Result basis. This means that in some markets we settle using both the official result from the racecourse on the day (at the 'weighed in' signal) and the immediate result, with subsequent amendments, as a result of Stewards’ Enquiries or Objections, ignored, (the “First Past the Post” result).

30.2
The First Past the Post result will generally apply to all single and multiple bets at all UK and Irish tracks, however it does not apply in the following events, where the official result will apply:

  • Ante Post Bets
  • Forecasts & Tricasts
  • Void Races
  • Selection taking the wrong course
  • Selection given in error by judge
  • Selection carrying wrong weight
  • Jockey failing to weigh in
  • Any Tote or Pari-mutual bets
  • Markets on winning favourites & distance betting
  • 'Betting without favourites' markets
  • Daily challenge bets (jockey, meeting, tipster challenges & match bets)

30.3
Ante Post betting. An Ante Post Bet is defined as one taken before the final declarations to run are known. An Ante Post Bet on a horse that does not run will be settled as a loser. Exceptions to this are where a horse is balloted out of the race as set out in Jockey Club Rule 125, or had no chance to win at the time the bet was struck (e.g. the horse was dead), or where we offer the Ante Post Bet 'with a run' (specific Ante Post Bets where stakes are not lost on non-running horses). Ante Post bets are accepted at the currently quoted price only.

Where a horse is balloted out of a race, bets on the remaining runners in the race are liable to a Rule 4 deduction.

It is not possible to bet at accumulative odds on the same horse to win two or more races. Special odds may be offered (on request) for a horse to win two or more races.

Where a race is postponed to another day and the final declarations stand, then bets on that race stand. If final declarations do not stand then all bets will be void.

If a race is abandoned, declared void, or if the conditions of the race are altered (e.g. the race is run at a different racecourse than was originally intended) then all bets on selections in that race are considered non runners.

30.4
Early price betting. An early price bet is defined as one where a price is taken, and is placed after 10.00am on the day that the final declaration to run is made and before the first show of board prices from the racecourse are displayed. Early price bets are accepted on the basis that if the selection does not run, stakes will be returned (“Non Runner No Bet”), and are liable to a Rule 4 deduction.

30.5
Board Price betting. A Board Price bet is one placed at the odds that we display immediately before a race as supplied from the racecourse where the race is run. We reserve the right to adjust bets when there is an official correction made to a Board Price that was displayed on the basis that the original price given was a mistake based on erroneous information at the time we contracted with the customer. Bets will be adjusted to the official price. Board Price bets are accepted on the basis of Non Runner No Bet, and are liable to a Rule 4 deduction.

30.6
Starting Price betting. Starting Price bets are those placed accepting the officially returned Starting Price supplied from the racecourse where the race is run. All Starting Price bets, regardless of when they were placed, are accepted on the basis of Non Runner No Bet. Rule 4 will only apply to Starting Price bets where a horse is withdrawn prior to the start of a race, and a new course betting market is not formed prior to the start of the race. Any bet accepted on a horse where the customer does not indicate he wishes to take the currently available price will be settled at the Starting Price.

30.7
Pari Mutuel betting. Pari Mutuel betting exists where there is not an on course betting market taken from course bookmakers to form betting shows and Starting Prices. Countries like France operate this 'Totalisator' form of betting. When we offer Starting Price betting from races where a Pari Mutuel system is in operation, payments are as follows:

We pay the win part of a payout equivalent to the Pari Mutuel win dividend.

We pay the place part (of an each way bet) of a payout equivalent to the Pari Mutuel place dividend for that race.

It is not possible to bet on Pari Mutuel races at prices other than the final declared dividend. Any prices displayed on the website prior to the start of the race that are based on the Pari Mutuel pools are displayed for information and guide purposes only.

30.8
U.S. Racing. Unless otherwise stated the following applies to settlement of bets taken on racing from the U.S.:

Races of 4 runners or less – All bets will be settled to a Tote dividend. All races will be win only.

Races of 7 runners or less – All bets will be settled to a Tote dividend. Races will be settled to only 2 places and the place part of any bet will be settled from the place pool.

Races of 8 runners or more – All bets will be settled to a Tote dividend. Races will be settled to at least 3 places and the place part of any bet will be settled from the show pool.

30.9
Match betting. Where we offer Match bets between two horses in the same race both horses must come under starter's orders, or all bets are void. If only one of the horses completes the course then that horse is the winner. If neither horse completes the course then bets are void. It is not possible to combine a bet on a horse to win a race with a Match bet involving the same horse. All Match bets are settled on a First Past the Post basis.

30.10
Winning Distance betting. When we offer betting on the total Winning Distance at a meeting, bets are void if the card is not completed, except where the result of the winning distance market for that meeting has already been decided. The maximum winning distance that will be deemed for any Flat race is 12 lengths, and the maximum for a National Hunt race - (including National Hunt Flat Races (or Bumpers)) is 30 lengths.

In the event of a walkover (the withdrawal of one or more runners that results in only one runner being left) the following winning distance will be deemed to have applied; 12 lengths for National Hunt Races - including National Hunt Flat Races (or Bumpers) and 5 lengths for a Flat Race.

For winning distances less than 1 length the following scale is used to convert the official distance to a numerical value:

Short Head = 0.1
Head = 0.2
Neck = 0.3
Quarter Length = 0.25
Half Length = 0.5
Three Quarters of a Length = 0.75
Neck = 0.3
A distance is defined as 12 or 30 lengths (see above).

All winning distances are calculated on a First Past the Post basis and the distance will be calculated using the result as announced by the racecourse judge (subsequent amendments, as a result of Stewards' Enquiries or Objections, will be ignored). First Past the Post terms do not apply where the wrong course is taken. In this event the distance between the runners who took the correct course will apply.

30.11
Meeting Challenge. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which meeting will have the most winning favourites the following rules will apply:

A winning joint or co-favourite counts as a winning favourite, however a withdrawn favourite (if no new book is formed) counts as a losing favourite.

If fewer than 3 races are completed at either meeting all bets will be void. Void races do not affect the result of a Meeting Challenge, unless fewer than 3 races are completed.

A favourite which dead-heats for first place will be classed as a winning favourite.

In the event of no Starting Price being returned, the horse with the lowest price in the Racing Post betting forecast will count as the favourite.

Walkovers will be ignored for Meeting Challenge purposes.

30.12
Jockey Challenge. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which jockey will ride the most winners at a meeting the following rules will apply:

The result of a Jockey Challenge is determined by a jockey's actual rides. If either jockey in a Jockey Challenge does not ride in at least one race at the specified meeting, all bets will be void.

Void races do not alter the result of a Jockey Challenge, unless the above applies.

A jockey's mount which dead-heats for first place counts as a complete winner for Jockey Challenge purposes. A jockey's mount which 'walks-over' counts as a winning ride.

30.13
Trap Challenge. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which trap will provide the most winners at a meeting the following rules will apply:

Bets are acceptable win only.

The Dead Heat Rule applies to all bets where trap winners are equal. However, dead-heats in individual races will be treated as winners.

The result will stand irrespective of any void races or abandoned meetings.

30.14
Tipster Challenge. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which Tipster will predict the most winners at a specified meeting the following rules will apply:

If fewer than 3 selections of either tipster run all Tipster Challenge bets will be void.

Void races do not affect the result of a Tipster Challenge, unless the above applies.

A withdrawn selection counts as a losing selection. A selection which dead-heats for first place will count as a winning selection.

30.15
Forecasts. Forecast bets are accepted only in races of three runners and more. Should a forecast bet be accepted in error, or if a race is reduced to only 2 runners then bets will stand as a single on the first named selection (at Starting Price). Where one horse finishes alone then bets will be settled as a Starting Price odds single. In all other cases where a Forecast dividend is not declared then bets will be void. If a horse becomes a non-runner then forecast bets involving that horse will be void. In a combination forecast, where a selection becomes a non-runner, the total stake of the bet will be divided equally between the possible forecast combinations using the remaining selections.

30.16
Tricasts. Tricast bets are accepted only in races for which an official tricast return is declared by the appropriate authority. Where one of the horses selected in a tricast becomes a non-runner then the bet becomes a forecast on the remaining two selections. Where two of the selected horses become non-runners then bets will be void. Should we accept a tricast bet in error where no tricast is declared, the bet reverts to a straight forecast on the first two named selections.

30.17
Doubly Engaged. All bets on horses on the Website are accepted in the context of the race displayed on the page from which the bet was placed. Therefore a bet on a doubly engaged horse will stand only if it runs in that displayed race.

31. Football

31.1
Normal time only counts (90 mins plus any injury time)
a. Unless otherwise specifically stated, all bets on football matches are for
play in normal time (i.e. the score at the end of the second half). Extra
time and/or penalties do not count.

b. Where a match has been completed, but the result is subsequently deemed void for whatever technical reason, all bets will be settled on the original result regardless of any later rearranged fixture.

31.2
Postponements or cancellations
a. Where a match is postponed or cancelled from the day for which it is was scheduled at the time the bet was struck, all bets on that game will be void, unless it is played before the end of the same calendar week (calendar week = Monday to Sunday).

31.3
Abandoned matches
a. If a match is abandoned before the end of the second half, all bets on markets that are not already determined on that game are void.  This applies notwithstanding the fact the governing body may deem the result of the shortened match to stand for competition purposes (e.g. FIFA award a 2-0 victory to one of the teams).

31.4
First Player To Score
a. Players who do not play in the game, or who come on to the field after the first goal has been scored are considered non-runners and stakes are refunded.

b. For First Player To Score bets, own goals do not count. So, if the first goal in a game is an own goal then the player scoring the second goal will be settled as 'first' to score. If an own goal is the only goal of a game then 'no goalscorer' will be settled as the winner for that game.

c. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they score the first goal.

31.5
Each-Way First Goalscorer
a. Singles and upwards accepted.

b. With the exception of own goals, the place part of each way bets will be settled at one third the odds on the first, second, third, fourth and fifth different goalscorers only. Players who do not score until after five different players have already scored, will be treated as losing selections.

c. If less then five different players score during a match, then settlement will be based on the actual number of different goalscorers. Where no goals are scored, all each-way bets will be treated as losing selections.

d. If a player scores the first goal, both the win and place part of the bet are successful and will be settled at the appropriate win and place odds. If the same player scores another goal in the match no additional winnings will be paid.

e. If a player scores either the second, third, fourth or fifth goal, the place part of the bet is successful. If the same player scores another goal in the match no additional winnings will be paid.

f. Where the selection does not take part, or comes on after the first goal is scored, both the win and place part of the bet will be void, unless the first goal is an own goal, in which case bets will stand.

g. Players that are substituted/sent off before the first goal is scored are treated as losing selections in both the win and place part of the bet.

h. Each-way bets on No Goalscorer or Last Goalscorer are not accepted and if taken in error will be settled “all up to win”, (i.e. the total stake will be invested as a win only bet).

i. Each-way selections are not accepted in First Goalscorer/Correct Score Doubles and if taken in error will be settled “all up to win”.

j. Own goals do not count.

31.6
Combo Bets/Scorecast
a. A Combo Bet is a forecast of the first or last player to score and the correct score in the same game. A special price - that will be different to the multiplied odds for the two outcomes - is supplied for Combo Bets. These prices can be generated by using the drop down boxes on the website. One drop down contains the names of the players, the other drop down contains the different Correct Score options.

b. A Combo Bet containing a player who is considered a non-runner becomes a single on the chosen correct score, to the full stake of the Combo Bet.

31.7
Last Player To Score
a. A player who plays any part in a game is deemed a participant for last scorer bets. Players who do not play any part in the game are considered non-runners.

b. For Last Player To Score bets, own goals do not count. So, if the last goal in a game is an own goal then the player scoring the previous goal will be settled as 'last' to score. If an own goal is the only goal of a game then 'no goalscorer' will be settled as the winner for that game.

c. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they score the last goal.

31.8
Anytime Player To Score
a. A player who plays any part in a game is deemed a participant for anytime scorer bets. Players who do not play any part in the game are considered non-runners.

b. For Anytime Player To Score bets own goals do not count. So, if a player scores an own goal during the course of the game this will not be counted for settlement purposes.

c. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they score during the game.

31.9
Players To Keep a Clean Sheet
a. If a match commences but is subsequently abandoned before full time and no goals have been scored then all selections involved within the match will be deemed void. If one or more goals have been scored prior to abandonment, then the relevant team or players will be deemed losers.

b. If a Player is selected who does not play the full 90 minutes of the match then the selection will be deemed void. However, if a Player starts the match and is on the field when a goal is conceded by his team, the selection will be deemed a loser regardless of any subsequent substitutions. If a Player concedes a goal (regardless of whether or not it is an own goal) he will be deemed a loser.

31.10
Adjudication of results (including first goal scorers)
a. Settlement of football bets will be based on the results as determined by the Press Association’s initial decision.  Where the Press Association do not cover a match, settlement will be based on the results as determined by the most appropriate Football Association with oversight of the match.

31.10
Match specials
a. For selected football matches we offer a menu of special bets with accompanying special rules. Unless otherwise stated only regular time and any additional injury time applies.

Total Goals
i. Betting on exactly, less than or more than a specified number of goals to be scored in the game. Singles and upwards are accepted on this market.

Bookings
ii. Betting on three ranges of booking 'scores', based on a scoring system of 10 points for a yellow card and 25 points for a red card. The maximum number of points that can be allocated to one player is 35. (i.e. a sending off comprising 2 yellow cards = 10 points + 25 points). Cards shown to active players during normal time only count. Singles and upwards are accepted on this market.

Corners
iii. Betting on exactly, more than or less than a specified number of corners. Only corners actually taken count. Singles and upwards are accepted on this market.

Highest Scoring Half
iv. Betting on which of the two halves will contain more goals (or the same number of goals). Singles and upwards are accepted on this market.

Time Of First Goal
v. Betting on when the first goal of the game will be scored within the stated time period. Singles only are accepted on this market.

First/Next Team To Score
vi. Betting on which of the two teams will score the first or next (if in-running) goal, or that no goal will be scored. Singles only are accepted on this market. If the first/next goal is an own-goal it will be used for settlement purposes.

10-Minute Free Kick, Corner and Throw In Betting
vii. We sometimes offer 10-minute segment betting on the number of free kicks, corners and throw-ins in a match.  40.00 – 49.59 minutes includes any stoppage/injury time prior to halftime, likewise 80.00 – Full Time includes any stoppage/injury time added at the end of the match. For settlement purposes a penalty is not classed as a free kick and the actual free kick, corner or throw has to have taken place to be counted into the total.  Simply being awarded will not count for settlement purposes. Singles only are accepted on these markets.

31.11
Betting In Running
a. For selected games we offer 1X2 and various other markets during the match. Customers should Refresh the betting screen to view the latest odds. On occasions we will introduce a handicap to one of the teams. A number of goals (the handicap) will be displayed in a bracket after the team who is being handicapped. This number of goals will be taken from the handicapped team at the end of the game.

b. Handicaps can be a number of whole goals, so a draw on the handicap will then be presented as an option.

Example:
Manchester United (-1 goal) v Liverpool

A bet on Manchester United will be successful only if they win by 2 goals or more.
A bet on Liverpool will be successful if they win or draw the game.
A bet on the draw will be successful if Manchester United win by 1 goal.

Player to score the "nth" goal
When Betting In Running we offer betting on the Player to score the next goal (1st goal, 2nd goal, 3rd goal etc).  This market is settled on a No Goal – No Bet basis.  In other words, if a game stands at 1-1 after 60-minutes and we offer betting on “Which player will score the third goal?”, all stakes on the Player to score the 3rd goal will be refunded if the game remains 1-1.

For Betting In Running purposes please note that we quote a price for Own Goal (unlike betting before the match where own goals are not counted in the player to score markets).  Therefore if the next goal to be scored is given as an own goal, this will be settled as a winner and betting will move to the next goal to be scored.

31.12
Ante-post football

League Winners
For the settlement of Ante-post bets, final League placings count.

31.13
Head to Head match bets
Head to head matches only take into account official league days and do not include any play-offs. If two teams finish the official days of the league with the same number of points, they shall be classified in terms of goal difference. The highest goal difference shall occupy the highest position. If the goal difference is the same then the team which has scored the most goals will be deemed the winner. In the event teams can still not be separated, the Dead-Heat Rules will apply.

31.13
Grudge Match/Mythical Matches
a. Betting on which team will score more goals in their respective games. A price will be offered for each team and the draw. For example, if the pairing is Arsenal v Tottenham and Arsenal score 2 goals in their match and Tottenham only score 1 goal in their match, Arsenal would be settled as the winner. If Tottenham scored 2 goals and were beaten and Arsenal only scored 1 goal but won, Tottenham would be settled as the winner for Grudge Match/Mythical Match purposes.

32. Greyhound Racing

32.1
Meetings covered
We accept bets only at those meetings, and on those races which we display on the website.

32.2
Forecasts
a. Forecast bets are accepted only in races of three runners and more. Should a forecast bet be accepted in error, or if a race is reduced to only 2 runners then bets will stand as a single - at starting price - on the first named selection.

b. If a greyhound becomes a non runner, regardless of whether a reserve runs in its place, then forecast bets involving that greyhound will be void.

c. In a combination forecast, where a selection becomes a non runner, regardless of whether a reserve runs in its place, the total stake of the bet will be divided equally between the possible forecast combinations using the remaining selections.

32.3
Tricasts
Tricast bets are accepted only in races for which an official tricast return is declared by the BAGS computer tricast return. Where one of the greyhounds selected in a tricast becomes a non runner, regardless of whether a reserve runs in its place, then the bet becomes a forecast on the remaining two selections. Where two of the selected greyhounds become non runners, regardless of whether reserves run in their places, then bets will be void. Should a tricast bet be accepted by us in error where no tricast is declared, the bet reverts to a straight forecast on the first two named selections.

32.4
Bets on greyhound names
a. All bets placed on the website on greyhound races are on the name of the greyhound, not on a trap number. Therefore, any bets on a greyhound who becomes a non runner are void, even if the greyhound is replaced by a reserve running from the same trap number. Bets will stand on a greyhound who runs from a different trap number than was listed at the time the bet was struck.

32.5
Greyhound competitions
a. When prices are offered to win a competition, bets accepted before the draw for the penultimate round (semi-final) has been made will be on an 'all in run or not' basis, and non runners will be treated as losers.

b. Bets placed at prices issued after the draw for the semi-final, but prior to the draw for the final will not be subject to our usual Ante Post rules, and any non runner will be settled as void. A deduction equivalent to Tattersalls' Rule 4(c) will apply to bets on the remaining greyhounds.

c. Where a greyhound is withdrawn after the draw for the final is made, all bets struck after the draw but prior to withdrawal of our prices will be settled at starting price, and bets on the withdrawn greyhound will be void.

32.6
Greyhound Webcasting
Where we offer a Greyhound Webcast service this service is provided for information and entertainment purposes only, and we cannot be responsible for the accuracy of any of the information relayed.

32.7
Greyhound withdrawn
Where a greyhound is withdrawn from a race all bets struck prior to the withdrawal will be settled at starting price.

32.8
No race
In the event of a no race being re-run, all bets for that race will stand at starting price unless previously cancelled by the customer.

32.9
Trap Challenge
a. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which trap will provide the most winners at a meeting the following rules will apply. Bets are acceptable win only.

b. The Dead Heat Rule applies to all bets where trap winners are equal. However, dead-heats in individual races will be treated as winners.

c. The result will stand irrespective of any void races or abandoned meetings.

d. Where a BEGS meeting is offered, it will be the results from this coverage only that will count for settlement purposes.

32.10
Meeting Challenge
a. When we offer the opportunity to bet on which meeting will have the most winning favourites the following rules will apply.

b. A winning joint or co-favourite counts as a winning favourite, however a withdrawn favourite (if no new book is formed) counts as a losing favourite.

c. If fewer than 3 races are completed at either meeting all bets will be void. Void races do not affect the result of a meeting challenge, unless fewer than 3 races are completed.

d. A favourite, which dead-heats for first place will be classed as a winning favourite.

e. In the event of no starting price being returned the horse with the lowest price in the Racing Post betting forecast will count as the favourite.

f. Where a BEGS meeting is offered, it will be the results from this coverage only that will count for settlement purposes.

32.11
Applicability of horse racing rules
a. Where a rule is not specifically covered in these Greyhound rules, the equivalent rule stated in the Horse Racing section will apply where appropriate.

33. Golf

33.1
Outright betting
a. The winner will be the player receiving the trophy on the final day of the tournament. The result of any playoff will count.

b. Bets on any player who fails to tee off in the first round will be void. Bets on any player who subsequently withdraws or is disqualified in any round will be losers.

c. Ante-post bets on any player who takes part in a qualifying tournament, but subsequently fails to qualify for the main tournament will be deemed losers.

d. In the event that a tournament is reduced from the scheduled number of holes, we will deem, for settlement purposes, the player who receives the trophy as the winner. The only exception to this is that we reserve the right to make all outright bets void on tournaments that are altered to be played on different golf courses.

e. Bets placed after the completion of the final completed round will be void.

33.2
2/3 ball betting (strokeplay events)
a. The player with the lowest recorded score is the winner. We will normally offer a price for the tie in 2 ball betting, but not in 3 ball betting. Where players shoot the same score, and we have not offered a price for the tie, then the Dead Heat Rule applies.

b. Should any of the named players in a two or three ball fail to complete the 18 holes in that round, then all bets on that two or three ball will be void.

33.3
72-hole Match/Threesome Betting

a. The winner will be the player achieving the highest placing at the end of the tournament (playoffs included). This rule equally applies if the tournament is reduced from the scheduled number of holes, but a winner is declared and a trophy is awarded at the end of the tournament. If one player misses the cut, the other is deemed the winner. Where both players miss the cut the lowest score after the cut has been made will determine settlement.

b. If one player is disqualified, either prior to the completion of two rounds or after both players have made the cut, the other player is deemed the winner. If a player is disqualified during either the 3rd or 4th rounds, when his opponent has already missed the cut, the disqualified player is deemed the winner.

c. A price will be offered for the tie and in the event of a tie bets on either player to win will be lost.

d. Where a match bet involves three players (threesome) the conditions listed above will apply, except in the event of a tie where the Dead Heat Rule will apply. Non-runner - threesome void.

e. In the event of a player withdrawing from the tournament before the completion of the first round (18 holes) then all bets on that match/threesome will be considered void. If a player completes the first round and then subsequently withdraws, bets on the withdrawn player will be settled as losers and bets on the remaining players will be settled in accordance with the above.

33.4
Group betting

b. If either driver fails to start a lap in the official race qualifying session, then all bets on that match are void.

34.6

b. Subsequent to the start of the race, any other driver who completes a lap as the first car on the road counts as a race leader.

34.8

a. The official FIA result, as at the time of the podium presentation for the race will be used.

b. Betting on other motor racing events will be subject to rules equivalent to the rules above where appropriate.

35. Rugby

35.1 The following rules relate to both Rugby Union and Rugby League.

a. Normal time only counts. The score at the end of the second half will be taken as the final result.

b. Winning margin betting. Correct winning margin betting is always from scratch, and does not count any handicap offered on the game.

c. Penalty tries. In first or last try betting penalty tries do not count. If a penalty try is the only try in a game then 'no tryscorer' will be the winner for that game.

d. Abandoned or rearranged matches. Any bets on a game not played on the scheduled date (at the time the bet was struck) will be made void. Similarly, any bets on a game played at a different venue, abandoned or postponed for any reason will be void.

e. First Tryscorer. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they score the first try.

36. American Football (to include NFL, NCAA and CFL)

36.1
The Home Team is always listed second unless otherwise stated.

36.2
At least 55 minutes of play must elapse for bets to have action, unless otherwise specified.

36.3
Overtime counts for all bets unless otherwise specified.

36.5
If a team is designated to play at home and the game is moved to a venue outside of the state where they reside, bets will be made void.

36.6
All results as per the official governing bodies – the official Game Book provided at www.nfl.com, at www.ncaa.org, at www.nfleurope.com, at www.cfl.ca and at www.arenafootball.com

36.7
Money Lines. Both teams are priced to win the full game with no handicaps applied. When betting on the money line your team must win the game on the field in order for you to win the bet. For settlement purposes overtime counts.

36.8
Point Spread. A point spread bet is a bet on a team to win the game with handicaps applied. To even the match for betting purposes, the favourite gives the ‘underdog’ a points start. A favourite is indicated by a minus points handicap and the underdog by plus points. At the end of the match, the relevant handicap is added to, or subtracted from the selected teams’ score to determine the point spread result. Where teams are deemed to be evenly matched, no point spread is applied; this is called a ‘pick’ game.  In the event of a tie on the handicap all bets on this market will be made void. For settlement purposes overtime counts.

36.9
Game Totals. A total line is offered on the predicted total number of points scored.  Prices are offered for the actual score to be over or under this quote.  The total result is the combined total points for both teams at the end of the relevant period of play.  When the combined scores of both team’s equals the totals line exactly then the result is a ‘push’.

36.10
Game Wagers. At least 55-minutes of play must elapse for game bets to have action.

36.11
Quarter/1st Half Lines. The relevant quarter or 1st half must be completed for bets to have action.  The 4th quarter does not include overtime.

36.12
2nd Half Lines. 2nd Half Point Spread and 2nd Half Game Totals will be available after the 1st half of each game is completed and will be suspended as soon as the 2nd half commences.  For settlement purposes the 2nd half lines include overtime.  The 2nd half must have 5-minutes or less remaining for bets to have action.

36.13
Highest scoring quarter. For the purposes of highest scoring quarter betting, overtime does not count as part of the fourth quarter.

36.14
First Touchdown. Bets on players to score the first touchdown will only be considered void (non runners) where the player was not in uniform for the match. Otherwise, bets are on the basis of all in, play or not.  If a match is abandoned or postponed but the first touchdown has already been scored this will be counted for settlement purposes.

36.15
Ante-post (season betting). If the regular NFC / AFC season is not completed, all bets on the Superbowl, Conference winners and eight divisions will be void.

37. Snooker

Postponed fight. In the event of a fight being postponed, then all bets will stand for 30 days from the original date, after which they will be void.

41.2
Drawn fight. For all fights we offer a price for the result to be a draw. In the event of a draw all bets on either fighter to win are losers.

41.3
Round betting. If a fighter fails to answer the bell for the start of a round, or is disqualified between rounds, then his opponent will be deemed to have won in the previous round.

41.4
Points decision. If a fight is decided by a points decision before the full number of rounds has been completed, then the winner will be deemed to have won in the round that the fight was stopped, and bets on either fighter to win on points will be losers.

41.5
Fight Result. All bets will be settled on the result as declared in the ring and this is not subject to any revisions or amendments after the contestants have left the ring.

42. Athletics

42.1
Podium positions. For all Athletics events we use the result as at the time of the podium presentation or medal ceremony, and disregard any subsequent disqualifications or alterations for whatever reasons.

42.2
All in compete or not. All bets on Athletics events are all in, compete or not, unless otherwise stated.

43. Cricket

43.1
Limited overs matches

a. All bets will be settled in accordance with the official competition rules as set out by the International Cricket Council. This includes matches where a reduction of overs has taken place.

b. If the competition rules allow for the official result to be a tied or drawn match, and a tie or draw occurs, and we have not offered a price for a tie or draw, then the Dead Heat Rule applies.

c. Where a One Day cricket match ends in a tie the Dead Heat Rule applies.

43.2
Test matches. Where a Test match ends in a tie, before the final session on the final day is due to have finished, bets are settled as a dead-heat between both teams.  Bets on the draw are losers.

43.3
Other matches
a. For bets to stand, at least one ball must be bowled. Where a game is abandoned due to bad weather without a ball being bowled, all bets are void.

b. Where outside circumstances cause a match to be abandoned then bets will be void.

c. In the event of a tie or draw, if we have offered a price for the tie or draw then bets on the tie or draw will be settled as winners. Where we have not offered a price for the tie or draw, dead-heat rules apply.

43.4
Series betting. Outright bets on a series will stand providing one match has been completed. Bets on the Correct Score for a series will be void if the full number of scheduled games are not played.

43.5
Top batsman – match. Bets on a player to be the top batsman refer to runs made in the first innings only, unless otherwise specifically stated. Any player who is not named in the starting 11 will be considered a non runner. All players named in the starting 11 will be considered runners, whether they bat or not. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they topscore.

(i) Test Matches - a minimum of 50 overs must be bowled unless 'All Out', otherwise bets void.

(ii) One Day Matches - a minimum of 25 overs must be bowled unless 'All Out', otherwise bets void.

(iii) Twenty20 Matches - a minimum of 10 overs must be bowled unless 'All Out', otherwise bets void.

43.6

A minimum of one test match must be completed for bets to stand. Our reasonable efforts will be made to quote prices for all participants, however other players will count as winners should they topscore.

43.7
Top bowler. The rules applying to top bowler in a match or a series are similar to those applying to “Top batsman”. Unless otherwise specifically stated bets are accepted on an all in basis, whether the bowler “bowls” or not.

43.8
Next batsman out. Bets on the next batsman out are on the basis of which of the two named players will be dismissed first. If neither player is dismissed then bets are void, unless a price has been offered. A player retiring hurt does not count as a dismissal.

43.9
Live Betting – Innings Runs. In one day matches, Over/Under Innings Runs bets will be void if the intervention of rain or any other delay results in the number of overs being reduced from that scheduled when the bets were struck, unless settlement of bets is already determined.
For example; if your bet states over/under 195 runs and the batting side have scored 200 before the reduction in overs all bets will be settled accordingly. If the batting side had only scored 190 runs before the reduction in overs, all bets would be void.

i) Runs in 1st 15 overs

Prices are offered for how many runs will be scored by the batting side in the first 15 overs of their innings. A quote is given and we offer prices for the runs scored to be over or under the quote. All 15 overs must be completed or bets will be void unless settlement of bets is already determined.

44. Baseball

Listed Pitchers. In the event of pitchers being listed both pitchers must start the game and throw at least one pitch for bets to have “Action”. If either pitcher fails to start the game for any reason, the bet will be deemed to have “No Action” (i.e. Void) and the stakes will be returned. Where we do not name a pitcher next to a team then bets accepted on that team will stand regardless of the starting pitcher.

44.2
Side Betting. If a game is “called”, or suspended, winners and losers for betting are official after at least 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4.5 innings. If a game is “called” or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning (unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called.) Stakes will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. All games must start on the scheduled date for bets to have action. If a game has been postponed or cancelled before its due start time, all bets will be void. Similarly in the event that a game is carried over to a subsequent day, then all bets will be void.

e. Tournaments will end when one player accumulates all the chips in play.

f. Should two or more players be eliminated in the same hand, the player with more chips at the beginning of the hand will be placed higher. If the players started the hands with identical amounts of chips, then both players tie for that rank and any prizes due to those players will be distributed equally amongst them.

g. When players supposed to post blind in the next hand are eliminated, there may be players who get a reprieve from one of both blinds due to the fact that the button will move anyway.

h. With only two players remaining, the button will post the small blind and act first on the opening round.

i. As players are knocked out, the tournament tables will be balanced to ensure that all tables have as equal an amount of players as possible. The balancing of the tables is done randomly.

j. A bet and three raises are permitted in structured limit tournaments. There is no raise cap in pot-limit and no-limit tournaments.

o. If a player loses connection, he/she will have an extra 30 seconds to reconnect on top of the regular time allotment for acting.

p. If a player times out during a hand, whether connected or disconnected, his or her hand will be folded.

q. If a player is not connected before a hand commences, he or she will be dealt cards and a blind ante will be posted. There is no rule against choosing to sit out - a player doing so will continue to have blinds and antes posted, as well as cards dealt.

r. In the event of a server crash, the tournament will be restarted from the position it was halted. Should a restart not be possible, as determined by us, the refund policy set out below shall apply.

Cancellation of Tournament

s. We reserve the right to cancel tournaments due to technical issues. Upon such cancellation, the following refund policy applies:

Eliminated players at the time of cancellation will not be refunded in any way.

The hand in play, if any, will be reversed for the players still in the tournament at the time of cancellation. These remaining players will be refunded their respective last Buy-In plus any add-on. In addition, each of these remaining players will share the Buy-Ins plus any add-on from the players already eliminated from the tournament on a percentage basis based on their chip count at the time of cancellation.

d. Certain release requirements or cash out restrictions must be satisfied before the bonus amount can be played with or cashed out. These restrictions or requirements are contained in the offer itself and/or on a supplementary disclaimer page.

e. Unless otherwise specified in the offer itself and/or supplementary disclaimer page, the standard release requirement is that the bonus amount will be placed into an intermediate account ("Bonus Account") where it will be held until you play raked hands equal to five (5) times the bonus amount within thirty (30) days of making your deposit. Once satisfied, the amount will be released to your account to be played with and/or cashed out.

f. All cash outs are subject to audit before processing. We reserve the right to reclaim bonuses or any winnings for failed audits.

g. Hands played at tournament tables, play for fun tables or on private tables will not be included in calculating the number of hands played for releasing the Bonus Amount.

10. Disconnection And All-In Policy

Except as otherwise expressly stated in writing by us, the following terms and conditions set forth the rules and procedures that govern all Players’ rights in the event of disconnection and game cancellation provisions in our General Terms and Conditions:

a. Disconnect protection is a tool implemented to protect players in the event that their internet connection is inadvertently lost while involved in a pot. If a player does become disconnected, that player will be allowed to continue in the hand (provided he or she has Disconnect Protection available) and contest that portion of the pot that he or she had become financially involved in up to the point of disconnection.

b. We strive to offer the best Disconnect Protection to our players. Our goal is to protect players while also maintaining appropriate checks so that the protection shall not be misused.

c. Disconnect protection is in no way intended to be used for any purpose other than a genuine disconnect. Any misuse of this policy by intentionally disconnecting from the poker site may result in; forfeiture of any monies won, tournament disqualification, the loss of the disconnect protection privilege or expulsion from the site.

d. Our software is designed to detect whether a Player had a genuine disconnection before giving the disconnect protection to him. If a Player tries to get disconnect protection by simply not acting on his/her turn and getting "timed out", he/she is deemed to have folded.

e. Players MUST accept the risk of disconnection. Disconnections can and do occur. Log back on and continue play as quickly as possible. To limit potential disconnection difficulties, please consult with your ISP as to what measures can be initiated to help reduce this risk. At no time will we assume responsibility for disconnected players regardless of cause.

f. If a Player is disconnected during the play of a hand and has disconnect protection available, that protection will kick in and the player will be able to contest that part of the pot in which they had invested money (and can win whatever is in the pot at the time of the disconnect).

g. We reserve the right to alter this policy and render final decisions on all matters herein at its sole discretion.

13. Policy on “unfair advantage” Programs

We are committed to taking all reasonable measures, and to do so immediately to prevent anything that either diminishes the fun you have playing on the Website, or that gives another player an unfair advantage over you when you play against them.

Why do we forbid the use of certain types of online-poker-related programs?

Only to protect our customers and the integrity of the system.

Certain companies offer for sale programs specifically created to extract player profiles based on their hand histories, and then sell them in the form of enormous player databases with the promise that anyone who purchases these programs can use this information to their advantage against other players—invisibly gathering information about you and then selling it to others to use when they play against you in online poker.

Certain other companies offer for sale programs (“bots”) specifically created to play at a table in place of an actual (human) player, and conceal its use from the other players, and avoid detection by the online poker site.

These companies offer for sale their programs by explicitly promising the prospective purchaser-user an unfair advantage over other online poker players not using that program.

Do we forbid/discourage all online-poker-related programs?

No, definitely not. Our website provides programs for playing online-poker and other Games. Our objective however, is in providing and promoting a level playing-field and the best possible user-experience for all of our Players.

How do you distinguish between Forbidden and Permitted categories of programs? Isn’t it true that many of these programs are for training—i.e., improving poker skills?

Programs that gives a player an advantage over others is not something we wish to forbid. Advantage is not the issue—deception is. And so is invasion of privacy and data theft.

To begin with, our basis for distinction is not whether a particular program gives the user an advantage over non-using players, nor is it based on the particular content.

To us, the key indicia that define the class of programs we seek to rid from use on the Site are: deception and breach of our customers’ privacy.

Nevertheless, what our customers want will always remain the primary influence on what we do about this. So for instance, we have no doubt that anything that compromises the integrity of the game or that erodes our customers’ confidence about whether they will be unfairly disadvantaged while playing on our site, must be eliminated. And it’s there that we direct our efforts. But our customers will always have the last word about what it is they want to play and against whom. So if our customers want to play against Bots, then we will seriously consider this request. But again, the bottom line is that we will do whatever it takes to ensure that our customers are not deceived and that their privacy is not violated.

Instead, what we’re talking about here are programs which: (i) advertise as a key feature that the buyer/user will gain an unfair advantage (quite often they even use the word “cheat”) over the other players—in other words, they promise to help a player to cheat; or (ii) their use by the buyer/user is intended to remain concealed from the other players and from the “Operator” (i.e., the Online Poker Room); or (iii) steal legally protected material (e.g., hand histories and player identities) that violate International Copyright Laws as well as Privacy Laws.

Granted some of the companies who make programs that we deem “forbidden” (i.e., that satisfies the criteria above) claim that the purpose of their programs are not to assist a player to cheat at online poker but rather as a training aid (even though they might concede that an unscrupulous user could indeed use it for the purpose of cheating). Think for a moment about this claim. What other plausible reason is there to make and sell programs promised to give you an unfair advantage and at the same time remains concealed from the other players and the online poker room, and actually take the place of a player at the online table but in way undetectable by anyone else. That aside, emphasizing one attribute to advertise their programs (“to cheat”) but disavowing that attribute entirely in every other instance is dishonest, to say the least, and certainly does nothing to help the image of our industry.

So if these companies who make such claims were honest they would disable the functionality that allows it to be concealed—since doing so would not compromise its claimed value.

But is there any proof that these types of Programs actually give the user an unfair advantage?

We are aware that experienced professional poker players are divided on this question—no one knows for sure and in some cases it is a clearer case than others. What we do know is that the companies who offer these programs actually promise to give the user an unfair advantage, plus the program’s operation is designed to be concealed from other players and from the online poker room.

Even if these programs gave their user absolutely no advantage whatever—fair or unfair—the fact that (at least some of them) invisibly collect our players’ data without their knowledge or permission—or ours—is reason enough to forbid their use on or with the website.

Even if another player is using a program in the Forbidden Category, will it harm me?

It might. And indeed it often does; certainly the purpose of this type of program is just that—to give the buyer/user an unfair advantage over you—in a game played for money—and to then to conceal that fact from you. And in a game played for money, we say that’s cheating.

Consider this example. One company’s website makes these claims:

Imagine knowing exactly how all of your opponents play before ever sitting at a poker table. Now use this knowledge to pick the easiest and most profitable tables to play at online. **** makes this a reality by giving you exclusive access to the largest database of player statistics and profiles in existence.

By subscribing to ****, you gain access to our massive database of player statistics - currently tracking 673920 players. With the click of a mouse you can instantly view detailed statistics on almost all of your online poker opponents. Armed with knowledge of an opponent's past and current tendencies, you can predict his future behavior.

If these claims are true and a player at your table were using this program, would it place you at an unfair disadvantage? Consider also that the company that sells this program—the core of which is a massive database of hand histories of as many online players it can get—actually offers its customers the option to conceal their own name on this database, from other users of this program. Is there not a risk that this becomes a process by which players become pressured into buying the programs at least in part, to ensure that their data is not available to other purchasers ? A privileged club who are not at risk of suffering the disadvantage as someone would be who has not bought that program? We think there is this risk and that it is not in the interests of poker players.

And finally, even if you are not playing at the same table as a user of one of these programs, the company who sells it is still busy covertly gathering data about you—without our permission or yours—for one purpose only: so that anyone who buys the program can have an unfair advantage over you if and when you play against them.

What counter-measures are we taking to prevent this?

Our efforts can be divided into three separate categories: (i) identification & detection; (ii) warning/suspending offending users; and (iii) additional measures through enlarged customer choice.

Identification and detection counter-measures are in-place now and have been for some time. These efforts will improve—so that we’re able to more precisely detect existing BOTS, but more importantly so that as new BOTS are created/released, we can also prevent those from eroding the experience when on the website.

The use of certain programs on the Websites on the poker system are blocked outright. These are: WinHoldem, PokerEdge, Poker Prophecy, and PokerBot Pro. Our decision to block the use of these programs was made only after our determination that they satisfy the criteria for placement in the Forbidden Category defined above. Unfortunately, we expect to add more programs to this list; at the same time though, if any of the currently listed programs are modified (e.g., a new release) so that the modified version no longer falls within our proscribed class, then our policy is to promptly unblock it (the modified version).

Once identified, a player using programs in this forbidden category, is notified. In that notice, we explain what we believe this player is doing and what steps we will take if he does not stop doing it immediately. In the most extreme cases, if after we send the notice, the player continues, we are prepared to suspend their account and confiscate the funds in that account—but never without prior notice of our intention to do so and never without first giving that player the opportunity to stop using the offending programs. We do not suspend/cancel/freeze a player account or confiscate any funds in that account, unless that player, having been first notified by us, continues to play on our site using the same offending software.

Do the efforts involve “data mining” or other intrusive means to access/read files on my computer as part of these efforts?

Yes—and indeed we want you to know that we do this but what particular data we’re looking for and also why we need to. Perhaps the best way to explain this is by contract to the most well-known form of data mining—i.e., what Google, Yahoo, AOL, and others like them are doing—gathering data about the user for (among other reasons) purely commercial purposes (i.e., to sell a user profile to online advertisers). Now consider what we do. The data we are looking for, we use for only one very limited and specific purpose: to query player’s computers while they’re playing at our tables, solely for the purpose of detecting use of the offending type of software we’re talking about here. This type of monitoring remains one of the key counter-measures against the abuses caused by BOTs.
